Church Bell rings out in Sag Harbor once again.  The cast bronze bell of Christ Episcopal Church of Sag Harbor, NY was silenced when it was discovered the 2000 pound bell had shifted in its mounting . The Meneely Bell which had been rope rung by the congratulation since 1908 had become unsafe to ring.  After looking for a company to solve the problem, Christ Episcopal Church picked Coastal Clock and Chime Co. of Cinnaminson, NJ . Working with Ken Neill the bell was secured while repair options were reviewed.

“The congregation likes the interaction with the bell, so manual or rope ringing was the only way for us to ring our bell,” said Fr. Willams. Pastor of Christ Church.

A new clapper and head bolt assembly were installed as well as a new bell wheel and bearings. The new equipment makes the rope rung bell easier to use. The bell of Christ Episcopal Church is now ringing out over Sag Harbor once again.
